Fish Fry
South Bay United Church annual Fish Fry was held on Wednesday July 4, from 4:30 to 7:00. There were over two hundred people in attendance. They waited anxiously in the church for George Underhill to call their turn. Once called they took their seats at six individual tables and went up to the banquet table for their meal. There was no shortage of food. The ladies of the church had busily prepared local fish, with all the trimmings; salads, baked beans, rolls, beverages, and delicious home made deserts. The craft sale was held at the Heritage School House across from the church. There was everything to be found there from jewelry to dolls. The money that the church raises from their fund raising activities goes into the community and abroad. They help to support The Prince Edward County Hospita, 3rd world countries, Alternatives for Women and many other worthwhile causes. It was a great evening and a wonderful opportunity for old friends to get together once again.
