HMCS Belleville

The Historica-Dominion Institute & Belleville Mayor's Office hosted a community reception with local veterans, community representatives, and youth to honour the military contribution of Belleville. This reception included a presentation of a memento depicting the warship, HMCS BELLEVILLE by the Canadian Naval Centennial Committee. The Canadian Navy is celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2010. The theme of the Centennial is to Bring the Navy to Canadians. This presentation was one of a number of cross-Canada events and activities being planned to honour the past, showcase the current Navy, and reinforce the enduring role for future naval forces.
